Frequent questions
What is a certified translation?
A translation made by a sworn translator, who stamps and signs it and certifies that it matches the original. The translation is bound to a copy of the source document. It is the form required by most authorities, courts and notaries.
How much does a certified translation cost?
It depends on the language pair, the length and layout of the document, the deadline and any apostille or legalisation. That is why we quote each request individually. The quote is free and without commitment.
Do I need to send the original documents?
Not for a quote, and usually not for a translation: a clear scan is enough. Originals are needed when a document must be apostilled or legalised, and we will tell you when that is the case.
Will Luxembourg authorities accept your translations?
Our certified translations are made by sworn translators and are used with communes, ministries, courts, notaries and universities. If an authority has a specific requirement, we check it before starting.
Do I need an apostille?
It depends on where the document was issued and where it will be used. Between EU countries, EU Regulation 2016/1191 removes the apostille for certain civil status documents. Outside the EU, an apostille or a consular legalisation is often required. We check for you.
How long does it take?
A standard certified translation of a short document usually takes a few working days. Apostilles and legalisations add the processing time of each authority. Express service is available on request.

Yes. We request civil status records, criminal record extracts and register extracts in Luxembourg and abroad, then translate and apostille them if needed.
Do you provide interpreters for notaries and weddings?
Yes. We provide sworn interpreters for notarial deeds, civil weddings, courts and police, and professional interpreters for meetings and conferences.
